Sparkles, Stars, Diamonds….

At MELC, we hold strong value in planning and providing a high quality program that scaffolds children’s learning and development in a holistic manner. We use a free flow format that allows us to capture meaningful moments, learning opportunities and gives us an ability to plan a range of purposeful ongoing teaching moments. We have a range of skill sets among our incredible educators which ensures a wide variety of teaching styles, learning experiences and exploration approaches. With a harmonious team work among our educators it allows for a consistent program that stimulates children’s ingenuity, provokes questions, encourages critical reflection and celebrates creativity.

We are strongly guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), our MELC Philosophy, a wide variety of Professional Theorists and the National Quality Standards. We believe in embedding these qualities through our program that makes clear sense to families and and establishes meaningful purpose to our daily practice. We cannot express the value we hold on listening, respecting and appreciating “Children’s voices”. Whether we are building upon the development of our tiny little sparkles or carrying out our organic embedded school readiness program with older children, we stand by our services philopshy stating that,“Children are at the center of everything we do.”

You will notice we provide and variety of large group experiences, small group interactions and individual learning within our daily program. This includes a range of intentional teaching moments, spontaneous experiences and group project work. Some of our previous and current project works have allowed us to explore “Creative arts”, “What it means to be Green” and “Change Matters”.

Lastly, we appreciate that a child’s learning starts at home and we cannot express how much we value families knowledge, input and guidance. After all, our beautiful little world of MELC is built upon the connections we have and the collaborative concept of raising a generation of capable and confident individuals.
